Troll Cross

Troll Cross norse symbol, viking spiritual symbol
Simply, the Troll Cross was used to ward off unwanted evil forms of magic, elves, trolls and other creatures. Iron was usually used in the crafting of this symbol, as Iron was thought to be a sacred metal in ancient times.
Many talismans and amulets were made from iron, and iron horseshoes were presented outside peoples houses as a form of protection against evil spirits and the evil eye.
There is no real solid historical background to this symbol, but Troll crosses continue to be a popular symbol in jewellery worn by Scandinavians today.
