Endless Knot
The endless knot is classed as one of the eight auspicious symbols in buddhism. It is thought of as a geometric diagram which symbolises the nature of reality where everything is interrelated and only exists as part of a web of karma and its effect. Having no beginning or end, it also represents the infinite wisdom of the Buddha, and the union of compassion and wisdom.
Though found mostly in Tibetan Buddhist culture, the Endless Knot can also be found in Chinese and Chinese-inspired art, and can even be seen in Celtic culture. Without beginning or end, the endless knot is an intricate design of looped intertwined lines that weave in and out of each other to form a beautiful lattice pattern.
